FIRE doors were left open and staff were not trained in evacuation techniques in the nursing home where 14 elderly people died in a fire, a fatal incident inquiry has heard. Questions were also raised over whether the fire alarm at Rosepark Care Home in Uddingston was frequently checked, and why gates leading to the home were locked, potentially delaying access for fire engines and ambulances.

A HOLIDAY fl ight made an emergency stop on doctors' orders to save a young child's life. Four-year-old Vegas MacBeth, from Johnstone, Renfrewshire, became seriously ill on a flight from Egypt to Glasgow, according to reports today.

Museum Gears Up for Festive Fun Concerts and Special Events in Run- Up to Xmas
A HOST of festive fun is planned at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in the run-up to Christmas. On the weekend of December 5 and 6 the museum is running "relaxation" tours, with adults offered a complementary therapy.
