In recent decades, different Electronic Trust (e-trust) models have been introduced. In this study, an attempt has been made to introduce 10 e-trust models for e-commerce, e-banking, and e-government. These models have provided a basis for much research, as e-trust literature has demonstrated. The aim of this paper is survey on models of e-trust by analytical-compare analysis. We begin by shortly introducing models of e-trust, then we discuss and explain About these models. In respect with the evolutionary nature of e-trust models, the aforesaid models have been compared to each other analytically based on different dimensions of Kim et al. (2005) e-trust model.

Intangibles are ideas or knowledge about the natural (physical and biological) and socio-cultural worlds that enable people to better accomplish their goals, both in primitive societies and in modern economies. Intangibles include basic research and technology improvements, as well as knowledge to better organise exchange and production, and over time become inextricably embedded in improved tangible assets. Accounting intangibles are legally excludable subsets of economic intangibles, which in turn are the subsets of cultural intangibles that can be used to create tradable goods or services. Because economic intangibles are cumulative, synergistic, and frequently inseparable from other tangible assets and/or economic intangibles not owned by any single entity, it is usually futile to e...

The objective of this paper is to provide a framework that relates non-government organization (NGO) internal management practice to corporate performance and to study the effect of senior management initiatives taken inside the organization on the overall performance of the entity. The internal initiatives addressed in this paper are (1) the time span of corporate strategy, (2) the NGO's internal management techniques and practice, (3) industrial, government relations, and image, (4) ability to navigate through the external environment with a market-driven philosophy, (5) human resource development, and (6) spirit and culture of volunteerism among staff and managers. NGO corporate performance is represented by outcomes developed in the paper, related to sustainability of the NGO, its v...

The EU's adoption of IFRS, combined with the SEC's removal of the US GAAP reconciliation requirement for non-US registrants reporting under IFRS, signifies a major shift towards the acceptance of global standards. Based on 20-F reconciliations provided by the population of US listed European companies filing IFRS-based statements with the SEC in 2005, we examine whether 'European' and US GAAP measures of income and equity converged under IFRS. We find that during the period immediately preceding IFRS, for our sample companies, European and US GAAP measures are generally comparable in respect of income and equity. However, as an exception to the latter, we find that UK GAAP yielded significantly lower measures of equity than US GAAP For companies adopting IFRS for the first time in 2005,...

Appointment of the new prime minister and cabinet has been held up by opposition protests, but these may help ensure longer-term political stability by preventing a divisive choice of parliamentary speaker. While unlikely to split the three-way 'Orange' party alliance, the Regions Party - numerically the biggest - has shown its ability to block policies and appointments it regards as too extreme. The Q2 pick-up in growth was accompanied by a deterioration in the trade balance, but inward investment flows have helped keep the UAH exchange rate stable and foreign reserves on an upward path. Freezing of gas import prices to the end of Q3 gives the government more time to settle in and form a negotiating strategy, and the recent price threat to Russia from Turkmenistan could be worked to Uk...

Financial misrepresentation has usually been analysed by large-scale empirical research. However, the generality gained from such an approach is at the cost of understanding the rich and complex nature of financial misrepresentation in real organisations. We adopt a case study approach to gain more insight into the incentives, embedded in contracts, which trigger decisions to engage in financial misrepresentation and the underlying elements of discretion in these processes. In particular, we examine whether contractual incentives should be considered as endogenous or exogenous and we take a more integrated and dynamic perspective than is typical. Our findings demonstrate that in order to understand the decision processes of real managers it is necessary to distinguish between negotiable...

The Secret History of the CIA, Afghanistan, and bin Laden, from the Soviet Invasion to September 10, 2001 (Penguin, 2004) is the most comprehensive survey so far of America's exact relationship with Osama bin Laden and his fellow Arab Afghans in the two decades preceding 9/11. Why the West is Losing the War on Terror (Brassey's, 2004), is to construct Osama bin Laden as just such an enemy: rational not mad, driven by specific grievances such as America's support for Israel and the presence of American troops on Saudi soil.
