Midlands Magazine of the Year AFestival fever in Wirksworth and Melbourne Midlands of the 2010& Lighting up lives in Matlock Bath publication Magazine MOST people keep a car, a van, maybe a couple of bikes in their garage. David Gregory likes the contents of his to remain a closely guarded secret.

JUKEBOX THE GHOST Let Live & Let Ghosts (Rebel) CONSIDERING the band's jaunty, piano-led college rock, it's no surprise they spent much of 2009 on tour with Ben Folds. There are times when you'd think you were listening to the North Carolinian key-basher himself. Of course, if you like Folds, that's no bad thing, but why bother when you could put Whatever & Ever Amen on again? While the trio lack Folds' witty lyricism, there's plenty of energy and, on songs such as Victoria and Lighting Myself On Fire, a real sense of drama. It will take more than that to lift them out of the shadow of their influences, however. JD GOLDFRAPP Headfirst (Mute) THEY'VE done soundscape, they've done dance. They've done glam rock, and they've done flower power.
Now Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory go headfi...

IN the world according to top model turned actress Brooklyn Decker, she is 'just an ordinary girl from North Carolina'. In the world according to me, sitting in a suite of a beachside Santa Monica hotel opposite this 5ft 11in creature, all startling sky- blue eyes and Angelina pout, she is anything but ordinary. From the cute choppy hair and the bright white smile to the Valentino kitten heels, Brooklyn Decker, it has to be said, is also a whole lot more California than Carolina.
Married to tennis superstar Andy Roddick, Brooklyn was perhaps previously best known for sitting courtside, cheering on her husband at tournaments around the world. Male fans will be aware of her frequently topping 'sexiest woman alive' polls and landing one of modelling's most prestigious assignments - the cov...

Chipping Campden Hilary Sinclair 01386 848843 -- The Friends of Court Barn Museum are arranging a visit to the Celia Lendis Gallery at Moreton-in-Marsh on Wednesday, October 19, to hear John Lendis upon the local landscape and pre- Raphaelite influences in his highly commercial painting.
Over a glass of wine John Lendis will share his inspiration and imagination in painting with the audience. The ethos behind the Celia Lendis Gallery is very much in tune with the Friends group as Celia describes it as representing "contemporary artists of integrity whose work expresses an authentic vision, a commitment to craftsman-ship and an intellectual engagement with the world". John Lendis was born in Britain where he started his artistic studies before continuing them in Australia. He has exhibit...

The Ladykillers earned Best Comedy and Best Design WHAT a difference a year makes - we've waved goodbye to the Everyman, for now at least, seen the Museum of Liverpool and Open Eye launched at the Pier Head, learned that Sound City will be taking over the Epstein Theatre and welcomed the news of Heritage Lottery funding for the Royal Court.
And in between, the city's venues have continued to put on excellent shows, exhibitions and concerts.
