Curtis Davies, the West Bromwich Albion captain, has been forced out of the England Under-21 squad for the European Championship qualifying match against Switzerland because of a bruised foot.
The central defender was due to link up with Peter Taylor's party for the match in Lucerne on Wednesday. However, in Albion's 2-0 defeat at Sunderland, Davies suffered a knock to the foot he injured at Leyton Orient four days earlier.

IT WAS silver and bronze for South Devon's two GB Squad members at the third and final World Cup Regatta of the season held on Lake Rotsee, Lucerne, Switzerland, which contributed to Great Britain's medals tally of four gold, four silver and two bronzes.
