  • Pupils from a Bodmin school are to expand their learning of the natural world outside the classroom thanks to a new orchard. Children at Beacon Infant School will be learning all about the cycle of life, plants, insects and animals when they plant the new Cornish apple orchard in their grounds. The Key Stage 1 pupils, involving four classes, will now take time out each day in the curriculum to take their learning outside, starting by planting fruit trees to help create a small orchard of Cornish apple trees and Cornish plum trees as well as a selection of native trees and hedgerows to encourage wildlife and birds.
