GLASGOW is expected to retain its position as the UK's leading shopping destination outside London despite a plethora of projects to develop out-of-town retail parks around the city.

Last week, Glasgow was named as the UK's second "retail destination" in a survey by credit analysts Experian, with Edinburgh sinking two places to 14th. Birmingham, however, is snapping at Glasgow's heels having risen from 13th to third thanks to the redeveloped Bullring.
