Summary
THE Culture (Scotland) Bill is "a slap in the face to the Cultural Commission" and a "wasted opportunity" which contains "no big messages" and "no definition of what culture is". That is the view of some of Scotland's leading arts organisations in their recently-published official responses to the draft legislation.
Some 212 responses met the March 30 deadline. They came from organisations as varied as the Perth and Kinross Pensioners' Forum, Festivals Edinburgh, the body formed last year to promote the interests of the capital's 10 festivals, and Glasgow City Council.See the full content of this document

All 32 local authorities responded, as did the universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee, along with Glasgow School of Art and Gray's School of Art at Robert Gordon University. There were also responses from the Faculty of Advocates, two local radio stations and several individuals.
