COUNCILS must find new ways to fund economy-boosting infrastructure after the collapse of "planning gain" payments from housebuilders, CBI Scotland has warned.
Speaking at the annual meeting of the Scottish Local Authorities Economic Development Group in Stirling, David Lonsdale, deputy director of CBI Scotland, said: "During the past decade, the expectation has been that house-builders and developers would provide much of the up-front funding for schools, affordable housing, road improvements and so on.
