WORLD Superbike champion Ben Spies showed why Yamaha have given him James Toseland's job next season after he secured a place inside the top 10 for today's final round of the championship in Valencia.

Briton Toseland had hoped to prove a point by beating the Texan in his final race before returning to World Superbikes in 2010, but could finish only 14th, five places behind wild-card Spies.
