Summary


There is always hope that a New Year will bring with it both peace and prosperity to all. The ancient King David of Israel looked for such a 'feel good factor' in his generation. He soon found otherwise, and realised that true satisfaction only came through the experience of having peace with God.

David later wrote: 'blessed are the people whose God is the Lord.' (Psalm 144:15). He realised, of course, that a nation consists of individuals. Still today, God offers us personally His lasting joy that outshines all material success - through the forgiveness offered to us by Christ's death on the cross.
