Coventry Labour MP Geoffrey Robinson last night demanded emergency talks with Government Ministers over plans to axe another 850 jobs at Peugeot's Ryton factory.

Mr Robinson, a former managing director of Jaguar, said he wanted to discuss the French company's decision to scrap a second full shift at the plant with Trade and Industry Secretary Patricia Hewitt as well as with executives of parent group PSA Peugeot Citroen.
