WE can make excuses by blaming a chronic injury list and the shocking state of the pitch at the Millennium Stadium which made scrummaging impossible.

But deluding ourselves defeat to Wales was only partly our fault won't help us beat France at Twickenham tomorrow. We have to look at what we did wrong a week ago.
