Algy Cluff, who turned 65 last month, has shelved all thoughts of retirement. The natural resources entrepreneur and former proprietor of the Spectator magazine, a veteran of half a dozen ventures in gold, platinum and oil and gas among others, explains: ``I've got three children under the age of nine and I don't want them seeing me being lazy sitting around all day with a glass of beer.''

Cluff likes to say that with Cluff Gold, his latest venture, which listed on Aim with a value of pounds 11.5m in December, he is entering his ``fourth age''. He adds: ``Fourth and final, this is the last roll of the dice.''
