FRENKIE SCHINKELS may well have become the first manager ever to lose two jobs on the same day when he was fired on October 24. For surely as he was sacked from the post of Austria Vienna coach he, in turn, gave up his unofficial role as Paul le Guen's chief European scout.

Schinkels was the man in charge of the team raided three times by Rangers during the summer as le Guen plundered a Czech winger, a Slovakian striker and a Bosnian defender at the princely cost of around Pounds 2.5million.
