AMNESTY International's Pounds 3 million capital appeal, set up to raise funds for its newly acquired Human Rights Action Centre at New Inn Yard, had fallen victim to a rather sluggish response on behalf of its donors since the appeal's inception last summer. Luckily, however, one celebrity donor has stepped forward to help to rescue plans for Amnesty UK's head offices, which include a conference centre and creative workshop.
