Summary

DUBLIN ace Barry Cahill is set to be sidelined for two months after his knee injury was diagnosed as a medial ligament tear.

The 2007 All-Star damaged his right knee when playing in the Dublin v Dubs Stars game 11 days ago, but the extent of the problem only came to light two days ago after the player had a scan. I was in Paris for four to five days with my girlfriend, and so I didnt have a chance to have my knee seen to here last week, said Cahill. I had a scan on Monday, and then on Tuesday I found out that the scan showed that I had a grade one tear in my knee. In a way I was relieved as I had thought when I got the injury that it might have been a grade three or four tear, which obviously would have been much more serious. Its disappointing to be out with an injury, but it would be far worse if this had happened in June, July or August, he added.
