CAMPAIGNERS have secured their first step towards victory as a pounds 7.3m scheme to move a primary school onto a village green could be scrapped. Earlier this year Durham County Council announced plans to close Esh Winning Primary School and rebuild it on the green off Woodlands Road.
The move left residents, staff and parents outraged. They argued leaving the current site, among woodland and wildlife, would scupper the school's hard-earned eco-awards.See the full content of this document
