I read last week that our prime minister's principal obsession these days is with his legacy. I assume he worries about how his career will be treated by future historians and whether his legislative record will be seen as a lasting success or a failure.

Entrepreneurs are just as concerned as politicians about whether their accomplishments will endure or just disintegrate while their lives are quickly forgotten. There is a degree of permanence about many vocations that seems absent from the world of commerce.
