AS WE remembered this week the two great wars and those who gave their lives for our freedom, I was struck that the one thing which united us as a country through those dark years was our Christian heritage.

And yet Prince Charles still insists when he becomes King he will not be Supreme Governor of the Church of England, but Defender of Faith -- a multicultural King with no fixed beliefs.
