THE next time we see Clive Woodward at an international rugby match he will be wearing a red scarf and cheering for Wales. While this may appear to be the ultimate betrayal by the man who won England the World Cup and then resigned, his new found affection for Wales is all about his next challenge - winning a Test series against New Zealand in the summer of 2005.

Woodward's move into football has been widely predicted, but it will be as Lions head coach that Woodward wants to be known until next July and woe betide anyone who suggests his thoughts will be elsewhere during the 10-month build-up to the tour.
