THE management of Courts, the furniture retailer that went into administration last week, is hatching a plan to buy all or part of the retailer's UK business.
Leo McKee, the chairman, and Alan Fort, the managing director of Courts' UK operations, are thought to be forming a consortium with private equity backers to salvage a business from the retailer's 88 stores which are currently being sold off by KPMG, the administrator of the retailer.
