AN architectural watchdog has criticised a major development by the man appointed to champion and improve design in Scotland's capital.

Architecture and Design Scotland (ADS) said a plan by Sir Terry Farrell, the worldfamous architect and also Edinburgh's design czar, threatened the "iconic" status of the city's exhibition centre, which he designed.
