Summary

HOLYHEAD Hotspur's new manager Mark Williams made his mark on the Welsh Cup by inspiring one of the second-round shocks, eliminating his old club Newtown. The drama extended to a penalty shoot-out, which featured Spurs' keeper Mike Doutch as the match hero. He sprang into three great saves and then hit the decider himself.

The rivals, balanced at 0-0 at half time and 1-1 with 90 minutes played, could not be separated in extra time either - but then Holyhead edged the spot kicks 4-3. Obi Anorou had netted for Newtown on 54 minutes and Curt Williams for Holyhead on 55. Later, both sides had players dismissed, the hosts' Jon Newell on 85 and Anorou on 87.
