The Driving Licences (Community Driving Licence) Regulations 1990

Made 29th January 1990

Coming into force 1st April 1990

Whereas both Houses of Parliament have approved a draft of this instrument, the Secretary of State for Transport, being a Minister designated[1] for the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972[2] in relation to the licensing of drivers of motor vehicles, in exercise of the powers conferred by that section, and of all other enabling powers, hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Driving Licences (Community Driving Licence) Regulations 1990 and shall come into force on 1st April 1990.

2.--(1) The Road Traffic Act 1988[3] shall be amended as provided in Schedule 1 to these Regulations.

(2) The Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988[4] shall be amended as provided in Schedule 2 to these Regulations.

(3) The Road Traffic (Driver Licensing and Information Systems) Act 1989[5] shall be amended as provided in Schedule 3 to these Regulations.

(4) The Criminal Justice Act 1972[6] and the Powers of Criminal Courts Act 1973[7] shall be amended as provided in Schedule 4 to these Regulations.
