MUSIC giant EMI is preparing to increase its offer for Warner Music with a proposal that would see it boost the cash element of its bid and put a value on Warner of about $4.4 billion (Pounds 2.47 billion).

The new offer will be a modest increase on the one first tabled by EMI that was last week rejected by the Warner board, led by chairman Edgar Bronfman.
