AMIXED but generally positive picture of agricultural land prices has emerged from two reports exploring both the national and the North East pictures.

Land agency Smiths Gore reported the first rise in bare farmland prices this year during the three months from July to September, but it said the cost of buying an equipped farm has fallen.
