PETER HEARD, the FA executive committee member who has been accused of not being 'a fit and proper person' to adjudicate on the Rio Ferdinand Affair, has called in legal advisers to set the record straight.

Heard, also a Football League director and chairman of Colchester United, was a member of the original tribunal which handed down an eightmonth ban on Ferdinand for missing a drugs test.
