Summary

LEWIS HAMILTON remains on course to complete his first Formula One hat-trick after continuing his domination of the Hungarian Grand Prix during yesterday's qualifying session. The world championship leader lapped the 2.722-mile Budapest circuit in 1 min 20.899 sec to pip McLaren Mercedes team-mate Heikki Kovalainen by 0.241 sec - and he felt he might have been faster still but for one small error.

Hamilton, who leads Ferrari rival Felipe Massa by four points in the wake of back-to-back victories in Britain and Germany, locked a front wheel on his final - and fastest - lap. "I just made a small mistake going into Turn Five," he said. "I don't know how much that cost me - a tenth of a second, perhaps only half a tenth, but it all counts."
