Women who set up their own business recognise that being their own boss gives them control and allows them to balance their work and family life. But men are almost twice as likely as women to start a new business,' explained [Harriet Harman]. 'The economy needs more women entrepreneurs to drive competitiveness and productivity. If women started up businesses at the same rate as men, there would be 150,000 extra startups each year in the UK.
