GATESHEAD Harriers produced their best performance of the season when they completed their Northern Premier Young Athletes' League fixture at Moorways Stadium, Derby. The Tynesiders had failed to win any of their previous four matches but they travelled in strength to the Midlands with a winning formula to comprehensively defeat Chesterfield, Leeds City and Macclesfield.

With the fixtures now completed Gateshead finished in seventh place in the 16-club division.
