SHARES in Bob the Builder-to-Thomas the Tank Engine group HIT Entertainment slipped 7p to 310p today as one of its potential takeover bidders packed up its toy box and walked away.

Classic Entertainment, the US group that owns Mr Magoo, Lassie and the Lone Ranger, told HIT that after a look at the books it had decided not to go ahead with an offer.
