FRANCESCA Annis, preternaturally beautiful even at 61, serene, an actress of exceptional range, has parted from actor Ralph Fiennes, 43, after he admitted an affair with a Romanian singer. On the other side of the tracks is Anne Diamond, appearing on Celebrity Fit Club and exposed as a "cheat" because she had surgery to make her stomach smaller so she could beat the competition.

I worked for TV-am when she was queen of the sofa, brusque, imperious and totally disciplined. Today she broadcasts her descent into flabby disarray and it is a pitiful sight.
