Summary


IT IS remarkable how money concentrates minds in this game. For about 15 months now, Football Association councillors have been telling us that they will not be dictated to by Lord Burns, with all his fancy ideas about modernising and restructuring their organisation, or the Government, who should not be interfering with running the game.

Then, when it comes down to it, 75 of the 91 members who attended suddenly realise on which side their bread is buttered.
