SOMETIMES it pays to consider the past before planning the future. There is a good case for suggesting that teams coached by Martin O'Neill and Gordon Strachan would have run Arsenal closer at Celtic Park on Tuesday night. Few, surely, would claim that teams led by the two previous managers would have prevailed over two legs but O'Neill and Strachan would have gone about their business in a different style from Tony Mowbray.
