Summary

There was a time in the 1990s when the words `New William Tuckett ballet' did not necessarily raise the spirits. But in 2002 the dancer and

dancemaker shifted his attention from the main stage of the Royal Opera House to the more intimate Linbury Studio with his inventive Wind in the Willows, which combined an Andrew Motion text, Quay Brothers designs and a strong, characterful band of dancers in a sell-out Christmas hit. Tuckett is back at the Linbury on Tuesday (to Sat, 020 7304 4000) with Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale, the story of a man who tries to outwit the Devil.
