MARCUS TREGONING started the Flat season with a yard of sick horses, but the Derbywinning trainer can make up for lost time with a top-level success in the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock tomorrow.

His stable was closed down for six weeks with a virus but, sensibly, he gave his horses time to recover and is starting to reap the benefits with eight of his last 17 runners either winning or being placed.
