CITY firms have been handing out the biggest pay rises seen all year to tempt top dealmakers through the door in anticipation of a big increase in annual bonuses, writes James Rossiter.

Senior-level salaries rose 17.6% on average in October compared with the same time last year, from Pounds 65,468 to Pounds 76,980, according to new research from City recruiters Morgan McKinley.
