LIAM PLUNKETT will be brought back down to earth tomorrow after an amazing month when he has gone from Ashes nonentity to England's opening bowler in the World Cup.

Plunkett is due to appear before Teesside magistrates on a drink- drive charge just eight days after he helped raise the hopes of a nation with a starring role in England's crushing defeat of World Cup favourites Australia in Sydney. The 21-year-old Durham paceman had the case hanging over him for the whole tour Down Under after being breathalysed at Yarm, near Stockton in November.
