THE firm contracted to build a new Pounds 26-million sports complex in Scunthorpe has been fined more than Pounds 7.5-million by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) after a probe into illegal bid- rigging.

The investigation into the Bowmer and Kirkland Group, and 102 other English construction firms, covered 199 tenders from 2000 to 2006.
