APART from a dockers' industrial dispute at Avonmouth - and that was nothing new - the Post's front page coverage this July week of 1975 concentrated on a Bay City Roller concert - the last one of a nationwide tour.

As the expected hysteria broke out at the Colston Hall, seven girls were carried off to hospital with another forty had to treated on the spot. Five were treated for hysteria, but all seven were subsequently allowed home. The 2,000 excitable fans, mostly young girls, had been shepherded since their arrival at the hall by 100 police officers, 50 stewards and teams of men and women from St John Ambulance.
