RIDE ON: Youngsters with special needs have a new toy to play with thanks to the generosity of a nearby supermarket. Staff at Sainsbury's in Newcastle used a Pounds 500 community grant awarded to them by the company to purchase a trike for the children.

Shop workers will be supporting the North Staffs Special Adventure Playground, on Stainer Street, in coming months after selecting it as their charity of the year.
