A BARRISTER who was thrown in jail by a High Court judge after he failed to fulfil a contract for a property sale yesterday reached a EUR 200,000 out of court settlement.

Patrick Russell had failed to meet his obligations under a July 2005 contract for the sale of a central Dublin property and was committed to prison in July by Mr Justice Peter Kelly.
