Summary


JUST DAYS after returning from a `team bonding' trip to Dubai, Newcastle United midfielders Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer were sent off for fighting each other in the closing stages of their side's 3- 0 home defeat against Aston Villa yesterday.

Trouble initially flared when Bowyer apparently became aggrieved that Dyer had failed to pass him the ball. Harsh words were exchanged before blows were traded with Bowyer, who eventually left the pitch with a badly ripped shirt, throwing the first punch and seeming the principal aggressor throughout. Indeed, video replays suggest that Bowyer aimed two, possibly three punches at Dyer, whose hands were arguably raised purely in self-defence.
