Summary


WHEN Rosie Turner took a break from teaching to do voluntary work in a Romanian orphanage, she was horrified by what she found. The children, all infected by HIV, were treated as outcasts because people believed, wrongly, that they were infectious.

"There was a huge amount of ignorance and fear," she says. "The children weren't treated as human beings and there was a lot of abuse. It was incredibly hard when I saw the nurses treating the children badly and I did get very angry."
