People advocating a choice between single vaccines and the combined multiple jab must address the consequences of such a choice (Comment, August 15). In 1988, after 20 years of a single measles vaccination programme, 16 children died of measles. Even if all parents remembered to make six separate trips to the GP for single vaccines, it would still mean more children left unprotected against measles, mumps and rubella for longer.
