Summary
Late summer is the time to visit the North Yorkshire Moors when the heather is in full bloom and the land is covered with a purple carpet. In the midst of this colourful scene cut off from the world is the village of Glaisdale.
An ironstone-mining village of the 19th century, its attractive terraces of slate-roofed cottages, wide verges and greens cling to the hillside on the western side of the dale. The river Esk flows through the village and high above the village is Glaisdale Moor.See the full content of this document
