ANGLO IRISH Bank lent E37million to tycoon Hugh O'Regan, a sum that he has still not paid back, the High Court heard yesterday.

It emerged that the nationalised bank advanced an extraordinary series of loans to Mr O'Regan and two of his companies over a three- year period. Yesterday, as it was revealed that Mr O'Regan's businesses have gone bust, lawyers for Anglo went to the commercial wing of the High Court, seeking the urgent return of the massive sum.
