SIR CLIVE Woodward put the boot into England rugby coach Brian Ashton yesterday, accusing him of a 'massive over-reaction' to the Danny Cipriani nightclub incident.

The 57-year-old World Cupwinning coach also attacked the RFU for failing to hire Shaun Edwards and described the 15-9 Calcutta Cup flop at Murrayfield as a 'shattering blow'.
