The Exempt Charities Order 1994

Made 19th July 1994

Coming into force 1st August 1994

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 19th day of July 1994

The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in pursuance of paragraph (c) of Schedule 2 to the Charities Act 19931, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

S-1 This Order may be cited as the Exempt Charities Order 1994 and...

1. This Order may be cited as the Exempt Charities Order 1994 and shall come into force on 1st August 1994.

S-2 London Guildhall University is hereby declared to be an exempt...

2. London Guildhall University is hereby declared to be an exempt charity for the purposes of the Charities Act 1993.

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order declares London Guildhall University to be an exempt charity within the meaning of the Charities Act 1993. An exempt charity is not required to be registered with the Charity Commissioners and the Commissioners cannot exercise any powers under the Act in relation to an exempt charity except at the charity’s request.
