The NCIS and NCS (Abolition) Order 2006

Made 1st March 2006

Coming into force 1st April 2006

The Secretary of State makes the following Order in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1(3) of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 20051:

S-1 This Order may be cited as the NCIS and NCS (Abolition)...

1. This Order may be cited as the NCIS and NCS (Abolition) Order 2006 and shall come into force on 1st April 2006.

S-2 Each of the following bodies shall cease to exist on 1st April...

2. Each of the following bodies shall cease to exist on 1st April 2006—

(a) the National Criminal Intelligence Service and its Service Authority, and

(b) the National Crime Squad and its Service Authority.

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order provides that the following bodies shall cease to exist on 1st April 2006. Those bodies are the National Criminal Intelligence Service and its Service Authority and the National Crime Squad and its Service Authority.
